Field Service & Application Engineer – Laboratory Equipment 📍 Cluj-Napoca | National Travel Required Adecco is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients Our client is a growing company operating in the medical and laboratory diagnostics industry, providing specialized equipment, consumables, and technical solutions to healthcare institutions and laboratory environments across Romania. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a Field Service & Application Engineer who will play a key role in supporting customers through equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user training activities. About the Role This is a dynamic field-based position combining technical service responsibilities with application support. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of laboratory equipment installed at customer sites while also providing technical expertise and training to end users. The role offers a balanced mix of field activity and office-based work, with frequent travel across Romania and occasional international exposure through supplier trainings and industry events. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and configure laboratory and medical equipment at customer sites. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Diagnose technical issues and carry out repairs efficiently. Conduct periodic inspections, calibrations, and performance checks. Deliver user training for newly installed equipment and support existing users. Provide technical and scientific support to the Sales Team. Assist with technical documentation and public tender participation. Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners. Prepare service reports and warranty documentation. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and professional support. Participate in technical trainings, exhibitions, and industry events. Candidate Profile University degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Bioengineering, or a related technical field. Previous experience in servicing, maintaining, installing, or troubleshooting laboratory or medical equipment. Experience working in laboratory environments is highly preferred. Strong technical diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance processes. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation. Advanced PC skills (MS Office Suite, Internet applications). English language proficiency at minimum B2 level. Valid Category B driving licence. Availability for frequent business travel within Romania and occasional international travel. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills. Proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset.
